The indications of the European platform for the exchange of radiation data EUROPED and those of the national automated radiation monitoring system BULRaMo do not register changes in the radiation situation on the territory of Bulgaria, as well as in the area of the Black Water NPP.
This was stated by the Nuclear Regulatory Agency (NRA), quoted by dariknews.bg, in connection with information spread earlier in the day about a fire in the Romanian nuclear power plant.
The Nuclear Regulatory Agency has sent an inquiry to the Romanian nuclear regulator, from where they have confirmed that a minor fire occurred in a turbine hall in Unit 2 of the nuclear power plant, which has been brought under control and does not pose a threat to the safety of the nuclear facility.
Earlier on Tuesday it was reported that in the Romanian nuclear power plant "Black Water" a fire has occurred. The flames have been extinguished, reports the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the country. The inspectorate specifies that the incident was minor and was not near radioactive substances that would endanger the residents of the area.
The employees of the plant were evacuated, there was no damage. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident.
The nuclear power plant continues to operate at normal power.
