Denmark is the first NATO member state that will invest in the production of weapons in Ukraine, reported Ukrinform, referring to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, writes BTA.

The Ministers of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov and Denmark's Troels Loon Poulsen signed a memorandum on the purchase of weapons and equipment from Ukrainian manufacturers during a meeting held within the framework of the Contact Group on Defense Issues of Ukraine.

„This is a big step, as Denmark is the first NATO country to invest its own funds in the production of weapons on Ukrainian territory. This proves that the Ukrainian defense industry is ready to cooperate at the international level and is able to meet the highest standards," Umerov said.

According to the Minister of Strategic Industries, Sergiy Boev, the document is important because the parties have agreed on the financing procedure, so that in the future this process will be carried out more quickly.

He also added that this mechanism could be implemented as part of similar agreements with other partners of Ukraine.

„We are grateful to the Danish government for its consistent support and the constructive dialogue that leads to real results," said Boev.

On June 13, the 23rd meeting of the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine was held in Brussels.

Meanwhile, Germany announced new military aid to Ukraine. It includes three highly mobile rocket launchers (HIMARS), 10 Leopard tanks; 1A5, 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, IRIS-T air defense systems and 21,000 155 mm artillery ammunition, Ukrinform reported.

In addition, air defense ammunition, small arms and ammunition, radio electronic warfare and drone jamming equipment, as well as various other auxiliary equipment were sent.
