At least three people were killed in a Russian bombing of the second largest Ukrainian city – Kharkiv, this afternoon, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, quoted by the Associated Press, writes BTA.

In the attack with guided bombs that hit a residential building, 19 people were injured, Zelensky added.

Russia continues to target the Ukrainian energy grid. Overnight, Russian forces fired another salvo of missiles and sent drones against Ukraine, authorities in Kiev said. The attack damaged energy facilities in the southeastern and western parts of the country, and at least two workers were injured.

Ukraine is grappling with a new wave of blackouts after Russia's relentless attacks on energy infrastructure that began three months ago knocked out half of the country's power generation capacity. In its eighth massive attack on Ukrainian energy facilities overnight, Russia fired 16 missiles and sent 13 Iranian-made Shahed drones, the Ukrainian Air Force said.

Ukraine's air defenses intercepted 12 of the 16 missiles and all 13 drones fired by Russia, they added.

The state operator of the electricity transmission network "Ukrenergo" reported that the strikes damaged equipment in the facilities in the southeastern part of the Zaporozhye region and in the western part of the Lviv region. According to regional governor Ivan Fyodorov, two workers were injured in the city of Zaporizhia in a fire that broke out in an energy facility.

With no major changes along the 1,000-kilometer front line, where a recent advance by Kremlin forces in eastern and northeastern Ukraine has made only partial progress, both sides have turned to infrastructure sites in an attempt to limit the enemy's combat capabilities in the conflict. which has been going on for the third year now.

In the Russian-controlled part of the region, Moscow-appointed governor Denis Pushilin said three people were killed and four wounded in shelling by Ukrainian forces this morning.

A policeman was also killed in the partially occupied Kherson region after a Russian drone attack on a checkpoint, the Ukrainian National Police said in the meantime.
