Four people were killed and three injured in a shooting at a house party early yesterday morning in a house in the city of Florence, in the northern part of the American state Kentucky, reported the Associated Press, cited by BTA, referring to the local police.
The suspected perpetrator himself subsequently also died after fleeing, being chased by the police, and finally his car overturned in a ditch, the AP reports.
Officers who responded to a call about 2:50 a.m. heard gunshots, city Police Chief Jeff Mallory said. The three injured were taken to a hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, in critical condition.
Police have identified the suspect as 21-year-old Chase Carver. He inflicted a self-inflicted gunshot wound and died of his wounds in hospital. According to Mallory, the suspect acted alone. The owner of the home, 44-year-old Melissa Parrett, died in the shooting.
