The former commander of the US armed forces in Europe, gen. Ben Hodges sharply criticized the administration of Joe Biden, which, according to him, is not helping Ukraine win the war.
Out of fear, Washington is not allowing Kyiv to attack Russian military targets deep in enemy territory, and that could give Ukrainian forces a huge advantage in winning the war, Ben Hodges said in an interview with the Kyiv Post.
Gen. Ben Hodges said that the Biden administration has no clear objective related to the victory of Ukraine, and out of an overwhelming fear of Vladimir Putin, it does not allow Kiev to attack Russian command centers and logistics deep on Russian soil. In his words, there is no logic in this ban.
Hodges wonders why Washington thinks Russia will use nuclear bombs against Ukraine now, when it did not when the Ukrainian military liberated Kherson and other cities. According to the US military, there are no legal, moral or operational reasons why Ukraine is restricted from using Western weapons to strike deep inside Russia.
