Vladimir Putin's army continues to advance slowly but methodically on the front in Ukraine , writes News.de.

Vladimir Putin's troops appear to have made further progress in the war in Ukraine. The Ukrainian army reportedly had to give up a strategically important bridgehead on the Dnieper River.

According to various reports, Ukrainian troops were forced to leave positions in the southeastern part of the country near Krynky in the Kherson region. The battles for this settlement were criticized from the beginning for their hopelessness.

Most of the main positions of the Ukrainian troops in this village were destroyed to the ground as a result of intense sustained enemy fire, UNIAN agency states.

At the same time, Kiev points out that the situation in Krynky in the Kherson region is “not as critical as it is interpreted”.

It is the Dnieper River that separates the Ukrainian forces from the territories occupied by the Russian army. In Krinki (on the other side of the river) the ZSU had created an important bridgehead, but it is now impossible to maintain.

The village itself has turned into a pile of stones, it was completely destroyed by enemy shelling. This is a place where it is practically impossible to maintain a defense, the Ukrainian forces said.

Ukraine has repeatedly stressed that it needs more Western weapons to first stop the Russian advance and then go on the offensive. According to a number of analysts, including the former commander of the US armed forces in Europe, Gen. Ben Hodges, the US and other NATO countries are providing weapons to Ukraine not to lose the war, not to win it. There is still fear in Washington that Putin might use nuclear weapons in the war.
