After violence in recent days in Bangladesh: Over 500 people were arrested

More than 500 people, including opposition leaders, have been arrested in Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka, following violence in recent days linked to protests against civil service recruitment quotas, AFP reported, citing a statement of the police, quoted by BTA.

"At least 532 people were arrested in connection with the violence," said Farooq Hossain, a police spokesman in the Bangladeshi capital. "Among them are BNP leaders" – The Bangladesh National Party, which is in opposition.
