Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said today in a traditional speech at an event of the Hungarian community in Romania that it should not be forgotten that Donald Trump could win the presidential elections in the USA, which would create a situation in which Europe would have to bear the consequences of supporting the war in Ukraine, Agerpress agency reported.

„The European Union will have to pay the price of this military adventure and it affects all of us”, Viktor Orban said in a speech to the Summer University “Tusvanuş“, which is being held in the Romanian town of Baile Tusnad in Eastern Transylvania.

The Prime Minister of Hungary noted that Brussels officials criticize him for the “peace mission”, but he believes that his efforts are a “Christian mission”, and as a Christian, “you are obliged to take action”.

At the beginning of the month, the Hungarian Prime Minister held talks in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin on a possible peace agreement in Ukraine, and then visited China, where he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Orbán paraphrases a Latin expression, saying: “Trump is at the gates”. The Hungarian Prime Minister pointed out that if Europe does not have a peace policy, and Trump wins the US presidential election, then the EU will have to “admit defeat” and to suffer the consequences of having supported the war, Agerpres informed, citing the official translation of the Hungarian Prime Minister's speech.

„The European Union will have to pay the price of this military adventure and it affects all of us”, Viktor Orbán said.

He indicated that he spoke with Donald Trump on Friday and told him that he was in Transylvania, where he was going to give a speech. According to Orban, Donald Trump told him to convey greetings to the participants of the event.
