Ordinary Ukrainians do not want to be thrown into the “hellish meat grinder” because of the ambitions of the United States and in particular of the current President Joe Biden. They are terrified. This is how the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, commented to TASS on the US policy towards Kiev in the pre-election period.

„No one wants to be thrown into a hellish meat grinder just because of an old man who has lost his mind and is easily ready to sacrifice thousands of lives”, Medvedev stressed.

„No one wants to be a pawn in someone's game or fuel in someone's fire, and this is intended for ordinary citizens of Ukraine,” noted the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. "People are terrified," he added.

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned the US earlier today that if Washington deploys long-range missiles in Germany after 2026, Moscow will also deploy such missiles within range of the West, Reuters reported. In a speech in the former imperial capital of St. Petersburg to sailors from Russia, China, Algeria and India on the occasion of the Day of the Russian Navy, Putin warned the United States that it risks triggering a missile crisis similar to those of the Cold War.

"The time to reach targets on our territory from these missiles, which in the future may be equipped with nuclear warheads, will be about 10 minutes,", the Russian president said. "We will take mirror measures given the actions of the US, its satellites in Europe and in other regions of the world." The US will start deploying long-range military capabilities in Germany in 2026 to show its commitment to NATO and European defense, Washington and Berlin said earlier this month.
