At least 19 dead in Ethiopia after boat capsizes in a river in the northwestern part of the country. This was reported by Reuters, citing state media.
The incident took place in the Amhara region when a group of people attempted to cross the Tekeze River, which partly forms the border between Ethiopia and Eritrea.
There were 26 people on board the vessel. Seven people were saved.
This is the second major incident in Ethiopia in recent days. Earlier this month, a landslide killed over 250 people.
