The bodies of 250 Ukrainian soldiers who died in the heavy fighting in the eastern part of the country were handed over to Ukraine by Russia, the authorities in Kyiv said today , quoted by DPA.
The soldiers were killed in Bakhmut, Mariyinka, Avdeyevka, Mariupol and other places in the Russian-occupied Donetsk region, the Ukrainian Coordination Staff for the Treatment of Prisoners of War said. In a message from the headquarters in the application "Telegram" The transfer of the bodies is said to have been carried out with the help of such organizations as the International Red Cross.
Once the bodies are identified, they will be handed over to relatives for burial. The announcement did not say whether the Russian side also received bodies of its own soldiers.
