A two-hour strike was announced today by Italy's beach concessionaires. Their requests are for security and new regulations in the sector, BNR reported.

Concessionaire associations have announced a strike from 7.30 to 9.30 am local time.

Thus, vacationers will not be able to use umbrellas, sunbeds and everything related to the equipment on these beaches.

The protest is a sign for the government to increase the security of companies in the concessions sector, which expired on December 31 last year, as well as to have a law for the reorganization of concessions. In Italy, such a protest is being held for the first time, and in the busiest summer vacation period.

More than 80% of beach concessionaires are expected to participate.

The National Union of Consumers believes that the strike harms vacationers and lowers the quality of the service offered.
