Russia has lost nearly 500 of its soldiers in just one attack of the Ukrainian army in the Kursk region, investigative journalists of NEXTA reported.
For three days now, fighting has been going on in the Russian region between Russian forces and Ukrainian special forces, who carried out a surprise invasion in the early hours of August 6.
The agency also distributed footage shot in the Kursk region. They show a column of destroyed Russian military vehicles with dozens of burned bodies inside. This is perhaps the largest single loss of manpower for the Russian military since the start of the full-scale war that Vladimir Putin launched against Ukraine in February 2022.
At least 14 vehicles were destroyed, with at least 490 soldiers reported killed. The attack was carried out at night. NEXTA confirmed the authenticity of the footage shot around the village of Oktyabrskoe, citing geolocation analysis.
