Ukraine did not is noticing signs of a build-up of additional Belarusian forces along its border, said Andrii Demchenko, spokesman for the Ukrainian border service, quoted by Reuters, BTA writes. On Saturday, Belarus announced that it was sending additional troops to the border area.

„In recent days, we have not detected any movement or build-up of Belarusian forces, including various military units, equipment and manpower, along our border,” Demchenko said.

On Saturday, Belarus said it was sending troops to reinforce its border with Ukraine after accusing Kiev of violating its airspace with drones.

Last week, Ukraine carried out a surprise invasion of Russia's Kursk region, Reuters recalls. Russia reported increased Ukrainian military activity near Russia's Belgorod region.

Demchenko said Belarus made the statement to contribute to Russia's information campaign trying to put pressure on Ukraine.

„Most likely they will be forced to ... move equipment and manpower, perhaps in small numbers, to give the impression that this is happening. Most likely, if this will happen or is happening, it will be deeper within the Belarusian territory," Demchenko added.
