British police said they arrested a man after a knife attack in London's Leicester Square, in which an 11-year-old girl and a 34-year-old woman were injured, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
According to the authorities, the case is not considered a terrorist act. The child and woman were slightly injured, but were taken to hospital.
British police remain on high alert after several days of unrest at the start of the month sparked by fake internet posts in which a suspect in the murders of three girls in northern England was wrongly identified as an Islamist immigrant.
The 11-year-old girl's injuries are not life-threatening, police said, adding that she will remain in the hospital.

A spokesman for London Ambulance Service said the victims were taken to a trauma center after ambulances and emergency response teams were called to reports of a stabbing at 11.36am local time.
