Experts commenting on Russia's war against Ukraine on one of the most popular shows on Russian television panicked and urged Russian citizens to prepare for the “worst case scenario”, Russian Media Monitor reported.

Analyzers of “Mesto meeting“ on NTV television they even say that Russia must “sacrifice“ some of its border areas with Ukraine. Such words on Russian television were unthinkable until now, but they are now a reality, because the Ukrainian army invaded the Kursk region and occupied dozens of settlements.

Political scientist Maxim Yusin said that Russia should now take a “cynical“ approach and evacuate all Russian regions bordering Ukraine and prepare for the “worst case scenario”. It is expressed in “sacrifice” on these Russian territories, “perhaps for 6 months”, because, according to him, the Ukrainians will strengthen themselves there.

Political analyst Viktor Olevych said that it is obvious that the Ukrainian army is not in agony, as many in Russia are trying to make it out to be. “Unfortunately, they are not in agony and that is obvious. They [the Ukrainians] are advancing,” he said, pointing out that the ZSU had not lost the initiative, as the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed in its daily briefings from the front.

In just a few days, the Ukrainian armed forces, which in the early hours of August 6 carried out an unexpected invasion of the Kursk region, managed to capture hundreds of square kilometers of Russian territory, capturing many Russian servicemen. Ukraine and its Western allies point out that Kiev has the right to carry out such actions because it is defending itself against Russian aggression. It's been 900 days since Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale war against Ukraine.
