Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed on Thursday the country's decisive fight against terrorism, Anadolu Agency (AA) reported to BTA, according to the information exchange agreement between the two agencies.
„We will continue our struggle with determination and determination as we eliminate terrorism as a source of threat to our country,” Erdogan said in a speech at the graduation ceremony of the Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Academy in the capital Ankara.
„Going back from this point is absolutely out of the question”, he added.
Erdogan said that if Turkey is able to show a bold and principled stance globally, one of the most important reasons for this is the successes achieved in the field of security over the past 22 years.
He emphasized that significant successes have been achieved in the fight against the separatist terrorist organization, which has troubled the country for 40 years.
In its nearly 40-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK – included in the list of terrorist organizations by Turkey, the USA and the European Union – is responsible for the deaths of more than 40,000 people, including women, children and infants, the AA notes.
