Clashes on the front between Ukrainian and Russian troops are increased to over 200 in one day, according to the morning report of the General Staff in Kyiv on the situation, quoted by DPA, BTA reported.

The heaviest fighting is again in the Pokrovsk region of eastern Donetsk region, where the Russian army has recently stepped up its offensive.

Russian units have managed to raise the Russian flag in the village of Karlovka, control over which the two sides have long disputed, officials said overnight.

The information from the Kursk region is contradictory. According to some reports, Russian troops have regained control over the strategically important village of Korenovo.

The pro-Russian military blog "Two Majors" however, reported a regrouping of Ukrainian forces there, suggesting that fighting for the village continues.

Overnight, Russia and Ukraine waged intense hostilities, with drone and aircraft strikes again causing civilian casualties, local media reported this morning.

A heavy airstrike damaged civilian infrastructure in the city of Sumy and caused a fire, the regional military administration there said. Sumi is located on the Ukrainian side of the border with Russia's Kursk region, where Ukrainian forces are advancing.

"There were casualties as a result of the enemy attack,”, the regional administration reported on its channel in "Telegram", but there are still no details of what exactly happened.

The Ukrainian General Staff also reported a missile attack and 18 drone attacks. He reported that 12 drones were intercepted. Russian sources report strikes in Sumy, Kryvyi Rih, Poltava and the Vinnytsia region.
