Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced today that Israel will continue to discuss proposals for a ceasefire in Lebanon in the coming days, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

At the same time, Washington warned that further escalation would make it even more difficult for civilians on both sides of the conflict to return home.

Yesterday, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz rejected global calls for a ceasefire against the Iran-backed Hezbollah group.

Israel continued to carry out airstrikes in Lebanon despite hundreds of casualties and growing fears of a regional conflict.
