Yesterday's statement did not contain precise information on whether the pope was still in critical condition. Despite the improvement, the Vatican said caution should be exercised in making predictions about the Holy Father's condition.
This is the 14th day that the 88-year-old Francis has spent in Rome's Gemelli Hospital, his longest stay in a hospital since becoming pope.
