Pope Francis continues to improve and no longer requires mechanical ventilation, the Vatican medical bulletin said this evening, ANSA reported.
It added that the pope's need for high-flow oxygen therapy has also been reduced.
Francis is continuing his respiratory and motor physiotherapy.
The head of the Roman Catholic Church has been in hospital since February 14.
