Israel confirms: New ceasefire offer on the table

Israel confirmed tonight that it has received a new offer from the mediating parties for a ceasefire and hostage release, adding that it has presented a counter-offer, the Times of Israel reports.

Jerusalem presented its counter-offer in full coordination with the US, Times of Israel reports.

The Israeli statement followed media reports that "Hamas" had agreed to Egypt's offer, under which it would release five live hostages in exchange for a 50-day truce in Gaza.
