Russia announced that "structures and countries" are trying to sabotage its dialogue with the United States

Many people, structures and countries are trying to disrupt our dialogue with the United States, Dmitriev said

Russian President Vladimir Putin's meeting with US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff was extremely fruitful, but various countries are trying to disrupt the dialogue between Moscow and Washington, said the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev, quoted by Reuters, BTA reported.

Putin welcomed Witkoff last Friday in the former Russian imperial capital of St. Petersburg and they talked for nearly five hours. Putin's foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov and Dmitriev were also among the participants in the negotiations.

“The meeting was extremely fruitful“, Dmitriev told journalists in the Kremlin during today's visit of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Moscow.

“Many people, structures and countries are trying to disrupt our dialogue with the United States“, Dmitriev said, adding that propaganda against Russia is being very actively spread in the United States by various media outlets.

“A very useful dialogue is underway, but it is developing in very complex conditions of constant attacks and constant disinformation“, he added.

After his meeting with Putin, Witkoff told Fox News that it had become clear that Putin wanted to achieve lasting peace in Ukraine.
