Man stabbed to death after argument on subway over assault

38-year-old man was unconscious when emergency services arrived

A man was stabbed to death during the morning rush hour on the New York City subway system yesterday after an argument over assault, the Associated Press reported, citing a police statement, BTA reported.

Law enforcement and medical teams were dispatched to the "Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall" subway station in Manhattan shortly after 8:30 a.m. local time, after a 911 call was received about a man stabbed with a knife.

The 38-year-old man was unconscious when emergency services arrived, with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities said they were searching for the attacker, described as a man between 20 and 30 years old, dressed in black and wearing black headphones.

According to police, the two men got into an argument on the train after the attacker stepped on his victim. The man was stabbed after the two got off at the subway station.
