US Vice President J.D. Vance said on Monday that he still believes the United States and Europe are on the same team and that it is ridiculous to think that there could be a rift between the two longtime allies, Reuters reports.
However, Vance said at an event organized by the Munich Security Conference in Washington that the United States and Europe have gotten too caught up in the security posture of the last 20 years that is not adequate for the next 20.
"European culture and American culture are very connected and will always be connected. I think it is completely absurd to think that there will ever be a serious rift between the United States of America and Europe“, the US vice president said.
