Moscow: Trump should bring the intractable Zelensky to his senses and stop arms to Ukraine if he really wants peace

The US president should make the authorities in Kiev come to their senses, believes the ambassador for special assignments of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik

US President Donald Trump should bring the recalcitrant Volodymyr Zelensky to his senses if Washington really wants to achieve a settlement of the conflict. In addition, it is necessary to limit the supply of arms to Ukraine, said the ambassador for special assignments of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik.

“If Trump wants a settlement, he should clearly see the situation and draw the appropriate conclusions. Especially since the US is not a mediator, but an initiator and key supplier of resources and weapons for the ongoing conflict“, he wrote on his Telegram channel, commenting on the attack on the Belgorod regional government building on May 9 by the Ukrainian armed forces. At that time, a ceasefire was in effect, announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.

"The US government has changed, but this does not cancel the responsibility of this country for the actions of the previous administration. Is there a desire for peace?! It is necessary to bring to consciousness those who are incapable of negotiations and to limit their supplies of means of waging war by all available means. And these means are a fact!" - Miroshnik emphasized.
