Hamas hands over American hostage to Red Cross

Hamas expresses readiness to participate in negotiations to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire

"Hamas" today handed over Israeli-American hostage Eden Alexander to the International Committee of the Red Cross, who is already traveling to Israel, Reuters reported, citing an official source, BTA reported.

The military wing of the Palestinian Islamist movement confirmed in a statement that it had released Alexander.

"Hamas" expressed readiness to participate in negotiations to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire.

The Palestinian movement called on the administration of US President Donald Trump to continue its efforts to end the war in the Gaza Strip.

Earlier from "Hamas" announced that they would release the Israeli-American hostage today.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, for his part, had a phone conversation with Trump.

Netanyahu's office added that Israel would send a delegation to Qatar tomorrow to negotiate the release of the remaining hostages in Gaza.
