Russia and Ukraine will negotiate the relevant proposals for a ceasefire "behind closed doors", as previously agreed in Istanbul. This was stated by the Russian ambassador for the crimes of the Kiev regime Rodion Miroshnik.

"At the end of the first meeting - quite short - it was nevertheless agreed that the conditions for introducing a ceasefire, or rather the proposals of the parties, would be considered within the framework of the contact group. So now the two sides are preparing their proposals and, accordingly, they will be discussed in the same closed negotiation regime," noted Miroshnik.

He added that such "nuances" and "mechanisms" are there to ensure a peaceful resolution, not to increase tensions.

China was one of the first countries to support direct negotiations, with the Chinese Foreign Ministry noting the joint efforts of the international community.
