Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on Monday that air defense forces had shot down three drones flying towards the Russian capital, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
"The Defense Ministry's air defense forces repelled an attack by three drones flying towards Moscow. "Emergency services specialists are working at the site where the debris fell," Sobyanin wrote on his Telegram channel.
Today, the Russian Defense Ministry said that air defenses had shot down 159 Ukrainian drones over various Russian regions, and at least six of them were destroyed over the Moscow region, which has a population of more than 20 million people.
Russia's aviation regulator said today that three Moscow airports had resumed operations after temporary restrictions introduced to ensure flight safety.
