Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said security at Israeli embassies around the world would be beefed up after two embassy employees in Washington were killed in a shooting outside the Jewish Museum in the US capital, Reuters reported, BTA reported.

The prime minister's office said he was shocked by the horrific, anti-Semitic attack.

"We are witnessing the terrible price of anti-Semitism and reckless inflammatory rhetoric against Israel. Blood libels against our country lead to bloodshed and must be eradicated completely," the prime minister said in a statement. Netanyahu added that he had ordered Israeli missions around the world to increase security.

US President Donald Trump described the shooting of two employees of the Israeli embassy in Washington as a terrible murder, which was clearly based on anti-Semitism. On his social network “Truth Social“ Trump said that “these terrible murders, which were clearly based on anti-Semitism, must be stopped now“.

The president expressed condolences to the families of the victims and added that it was very sad that such things could happen.

Earlier this night, world agencies reported that two Israeli employees of the Israeli embassy in Washington were shot in front of the Jewish Museum in the American capital, where an event was taking place at that moment. The victims are a man and a woman.
