Britain continues to strengthen Ukraine's naval capabilities in order to limit the capabilities of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea. This was stated by the Russian Ambassador to London Andrey Kelin.

"The United Kingdom has always done this, long before the start of the special military operation.

In this way, London is trying to deter the Russian fleet in the Black Sea, despite the fact that the balance of power in this region is significantly in our favor," the diplomat noted.

On May 20, Britain imposed sanctions on 18 ships as belonging to the so-called “shadow fleet“ of Russia, transporting Russian oil. On May 14, Estonian ships, supported by NATO aircraft, attempted to intercept the Gabonese-flagged tanker Jaguar in international waters, which had left the port of Sika, India, and was heading towards Russia.

It was later revealed that the ship managed to escape pursuit after a Russian Aerospace Forces aircraft came to its aid.
