Nearly 11 million foreign tourists visited Turkey in 4 months

Istanbul received 50.4 percent of all foreign visitors

Turkey hosted 10.59 million foreign tourists in the first four months of 2025, according to official data published on Friday, Anadolu Agency reported, quoted by BTA.

The number of foreign tourists in the January-April period fell by 0.6 percent compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Istanbul, Turkey's largest city by population and a leading tourist destination, received 50.4 percent of all foreign visitors, or nearly 5.34 million people, in the four-month period.

It was followed by the Mediterranean resort city of Antalya and Edirne in northwestern Turkey, which is located near the border with Bulgaria and Greece.

As for The nationality of foreign tourists, Germany is in first place with a 10.8 percent share for the period, followed by Russia and Iran.

In April alone, 3.9 million foreigners visited Turkey, an 8 percent increase year-on-year, the data showed.
