A mother and her three children died in a house fire in the north-west London borough of Brent in the UK, BNR reported. A 41-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police and firefighters were called to the scene of the incident, where they found the victims - a 43-year-old woman, a 15-year-old girl and two boys aged eight and four. Two three-storey houses were destroyed by the fire.
A 41-year-old man was arrested outside the properties on suspicion of murder and remains in custody, the Metropolitan Police reported. Another woman in her 70s and a teenage girl - both from the same family as the four who died - were taken to hospital. There is no information on their condition. Senior Sergeant Steve Allen said only that the deceased woman had been confirmed as the mother of the three children.
A neighbour told the BBC that the family had moved to the UK from Pakistan more than 20 years ago and added that she heard a bang and screams, then went outside and saw the building next door was on fire. Another neighbour, a 38-year-old teacher, said he knew the deceased woman and thought the family were “good people”. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
