The EU's top diplomat Kaia Kallas called for stronger international pressure on Moscow, Agence France-Presse reported, BTA reported.

Her call came after new Russian air strikes on Ukraine, which killed 12 people. "Last night's attacks show once again that Russia is determined to increase the suffering and destroy Ukraine. "It is horrifying to see children among the innocent killed and injured," Kallas said in "Ex."

"We need stronger international pressure on Russia to stop this war," she added.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for global action after the deadly Russian strike with 300 combat drones and about 70 missiles of various types, including ballistic missiles, on the night of Sunday, May 25, Ukrinform reported, BTA reported.

"Any such terrorist Russian strike is sufficient reason for new sanctions against Russia. Russia is dragging out this war and continues to kill every day. The world may be on vacation over the weekend, but the war continues, regardless of holidays and workdays," he stressed. The Ukrainian president stressed that this cannot be ignored, adding: "America's silence, the silence of others in the world only encourages Putin".

"Without really strong pressure on the Russian leadership, this brutality cannot be stopped. Sanctions will certainly help. Determination matters now - the determination of the United States, of European countries and of all those around the world who strive for peace. The world knows all the weaknesses of the Russian economy," he pointed out. Zelensky said that in his opinion the only way to stop the war is to put the necessary pressure on Russia. "Putin must be forced to think not about launching missiles, but about ending the war," the Ukrainian president concluded.
