French President Emmanuel Macron said today that he wants his US counterpart Donald Trump's "anger" against Russia "to turn into action", AFP reported, BTA reported.

The US president, who wants to end the war in Ukraine, accused his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin of being "completely crazy" and expressed strong dissatisfaction with Russian air strikes on Ukraine over the weekend.

"President Trump understands that when Putin said on the phone that he was ready for peace or when he told his envoys that he was ready for peace, he lied", Macron said during his visit to Vietnam. "We have seen Donald Trump's anger once again in recent hours. Impatience. Now I just want it to translate into action," he added.

Several European leaders, including Macron, visited Kiev on May 10 and gave Russia an ultimatum, along with Washington, to accept an immediate ceasefire. They threatened to impose major sanctions if they did not. But Moscow rejected that demand and proposed direct talks with Ukraine, which have so far made no progress, AFP noted.
