Islamic State claimed responsibility for its first attack on the new government in Syria

The terrorist organization detonated an explosive device against a Syrian armed forces vehicle in the southern province of Sweida, killing one person and wounding three soldiers

The terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS) claimed responsibility yesterday for its first attack against the forces of the new Syrian government since the overthrow of President Bashar al-Assad, Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by BTA.

AFP is citing the intelligence organization SITE (Site) and the Syrian Center for the Study of Human Rights.

According to SITE, which specializes in monitoring Islamist Internet sites, this is the first attack against the new Syrian government for which IS has claimed responsibility.

In a statement by IS, quoted by SITE, it is said that the terrorist organization detonated an "explosive device" against a Syrian armed forces vehicle in the southern province of Sweida.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said one person was killed and three Syrian soldiers were wounded in the remote detonation of a landmine.
