Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has reacted to the statement of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service that the Serbian defense industry supplies ammunition to Ukraine through intermediaries, RTS revealed.
According to Serbian state television, Vucic stated that he personally discussed this with Russian President Vladimir Putin "both in the presence of several people from both delegations, and in private".
"We have formed a working group, together with Russian partners, to establish the facts. Some of the things that are being claimed are not true", Vucic continued. In particular, he said, although Serbia has a treaty with the Czech Republic, "no permission has been given and no missiles have been delivered".
He added that the attacks on Serbia are due to its independent foreign policy.
"Our factories must live and work. About 24,000 people work directly in the defense industry and depend on it," the Serbian president stressed.
In an interview with the "Financial Times" last year, Vučić himself admitted that Serbia supplies ammunition to countries that openly support Ukraine, and does not care where this ammunition goes next.
