At a meeting with Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajic, Japanese Minister of State for Economic Security Minoru Kiuchi said that there is significant potential for deepening bilateral cooperation between Montenegro and Japan in the areas of economy, science and innovation, the Montenegrin MINA agency reported, quoted by BTA.

“Japan and Montenegro share the values of democracy and the rule of law, and in the field of economy, science and innovation there is enormous potential for developing cooperation“, Kiuchi said during talks with Spajic, who is on his first official visit to Japan.

The Japanese minister stressed that from a geographical point of view, Montenegro is an important partner for both Europe and Japan. He expressed his country's support for Podgorica's efforts to strengthen its economy and international position.

The two agreed to organize a Japan-Montenegro Business Forum by the end of the year, to be held in London or Vienna - cities where most Japanese companies with a presence in Europe are based. The goal of the forum is to encourage further contacts and economic exchanges between the two countries.
