The delegations of Ukraine and Russia have begun a meeting in Istanbul. The negotiations are being held at the "Çaraan" palace.
As before, the Russian delegation is headed by Presidential Advisor Vladimir Medinsky, and the Ukrainian delegation is headed by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan spoke before the start of the negotiations. Noting that during the first round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine "very important steps were taken", Fidan said that the second round will discuss a ceasefire, a prisoner exchange and the possibility of a meeting between the leaders of Russia and Ukraine. Fidan also expressed hope for "concrete progress in the shortest possible time".
