US President Donald Trump remains ready to travel to Turkey to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin, his spokeswoman Caroline Levitt said, quoted by Agence France-Presse, BTA reported.

The US president “has already said he is ready if necessary, but he wants these two leaders and both countries to come together around the negotiating table“, the spokeswoman told reporters after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan again proposed such a summit after the end of today's talks between a Russian and Ukrainian delegation in Istanbul.

The head of the Ukrainian president's office Andriy Yermak said today that Russia does not want a ceasefire and that new sanctions are needed to force it to seek peace, Reuters reported.

Yermak said this in a post on “Telegram“ just hours after the conclusion of the Russian-Ukrainian peace talks in Istanbul.

“The Russians are doing everything possible not to cease fire and continue the war. Now it is very important to have new sanctions“, he wrote.
