Jeffrey Sachs: Istanbul meeting showed that the outcome of the Ukrainian conflict must be decided by Russia and the Unit

Zelensky demonstrates that Ukraine's participation in peace initiatives cannot be taken seriously, said the professor from the University of Chicago

The talks in Istanbul showed that the outcome of the Ukrainian conflict must be decided by Russia and the United States, said the professor from the University of Chicago Jeffrey Sachs on the air of the YouTube channel Judging Freedom.

"The only negotiations that can be considered as such - and they are not taking place now - are the negotiations between Russia and the United States," he said.

According to the expert, Volodymyr Zelensky demonstrates that Ukraine's participation in peace initiatives cannot be taken seriously. Washington, for its part, is obliged to take into account all of Moscow's demands to ensure its national interests, the professor explained.

“We need an agreement between Russia and the United States, as between two nuclear superpowers, we are tired of them participating in this war, enough with arms supplies, enough with NATO expansion“, he said.

At the same time, Sachs continued, the United States must sever all ties with Kiev and begin a serious discussion to resolve the root causes of the conflict that they themselves created.
