There are no Ukrainian children abducted by Russia, and this should be the starting point when discussing the topic of children in Russian-Ukrainian contacts. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, speaking at a session of the Global Digital Forum, TASS reports.

"There are no Ukrainian children abducted by Russia, as they put it. This simply needs to be known and this should be the starting point when discussing this problem“, the diplomat noted in response to a question about the work on the list of children handed over by Ukraine.

"There are children of different nationalities, with different citizenships. Not only that, many of them may not have documents at all or may be victims of people who forge documents, who are being sought by their loved ones, parents, relatives. There is a normal form of work for this. Our Commissioner for Children's Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, works around the clock.“
