The Balkans are shaking! Earthquakes in the Aegean Sea were felt in Bulgaria

A series of earthquakes in the Aegean Sea, near the shores of the first arm of the Chalkidiki Peninsula, were also felt in Bulgaria, BNR reported.

Three earthquakes have been registered in the region. The first had a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter scale and was registered at 15:46. The next two were registered at 15:53 - with a magnitude of 4.5, and at 16:11 with a magnitude of 3.7.

According to the staff on duty at the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography, the first two earthquakes were felt in Southern Bulgaria and on the upper floors of buildings in Sofia.

In Yambol, the tremors were also felt on the upper floors of residential buildings. No reports of injuries or damage have been filed with the municipality or police.
