Vance: Complete madness - Biden sent $300 billion to Ukraine, but never resorted to diplomacy

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio are in constant contact, Moscow said

US Vice President J. D. Vance criticized the administration of former US leader Joe Biden for providing military aid to Kiev and for its unwillingness to seek a diplomatic settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.

“The Biden administration was crazy. They spent so much money around the world, but at the same time they did not resort to diplomacy at all. They sent $300 billion to Ukraine, but Biden never forced Kiev to a diplomatic agreement“, Vance said in an interview with American stand-up comedian Theo Vaughn.

The US Vice President added that the current US administration is striving to resolve the Ukrainian conflict. "If we succeed, we will save many lives. If not, it was still worth trying", Vance said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio are in constant contact, the two sides are interested in maintaining communication, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in the meantime.

"The heads of the foreign policy departments are in constant contact. They have already had seven telephone conversations, having met in person in February in Riyadh," the deputy minister said. “Of course, what is happening with regard to Ukraine and the search for ways to resolve the situation leaves its mark on our bilateral agenda at almost all levels”, Ryabkov added, stressing that “Washington also does not deny the need for this”.

“As for a new one-on-one meeting, this will be determined by the decisions of the presidents and, of course, by the specificity and urgency of the topics discussed”, the high-ranking diplomat also said.
