Barcelona has identified an Argentine as Lewandowski's successor

Argentine Julian Alvarez heads the list, which also includes Rafael Leao from Milan.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta sees Julian Alvarez as the perfect replacement for Robert Lewandowski, Topsport reported.

According to reports from Cadena SER, the Argentine is at the top of the list, which also includes Rafael Leao from Milan.

The idea is to bring him in before the 2026/27 season, when Lewa's contract expires.

The Polish star is already 36 years old, but he is still performing at an exceptional level. With 42 goals this season, he has been one of the most important players for coach Hansi Flick.

Meanwhile, former Manchester City striker Alvarez has also been in fine form for Atletico Madrid, scoring 29 goals in all competitions. However, bringing him in will not be easy.

Atletico paid 75 million euros and included a 500 million release clause in his contract.

Barcelona will closely monitor the Argentine striker's situation next season and will wait for the right moment to make a concrete offer.
