Israeli strikes kill 20 children in apartment building

There were 60 people inside

An apartment building in the city of Shahid Chamran in southwestern Iran collapsed on Friday as a result of Israeli strikes, killing 60 people, including 20 children, Iranian state television reported.

"Yesterday's Israeli attack on this apartment building killed 60 people, 20 of whom were children. The bodies of 10 of the victims are under the rubble. Some of them are babies aged 6 and 9 months," the channel's correspondent said.

The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces announced that it is continuing the military operation against Israel in response to its strikes against the Islamic Republic.

“The night strikes against Israel are only part of our operation and we will continue it until the criminal Zionist regime repents,“ the Tasnim news agency quoted a military spokesman as saying.

Russia continues to be categorically against the West's military and diplomatic support for Israel's aggressive actions. This creates a "new hotbed of high tension", said the Russian Foreign Ministry's Ambassador for Special Assignments Rodion Miroshnik on the air of the Soloviev Live television channel.

"Israel enjoys the maximum support of a number of Western countries, which provide military, financial and diplomatic support for these actions that have now unfolded in the Middle East. A new hotbed of high tension has simply been created there, and it is not clear how it will end," the diplomat noted.
