The Israeli military has suppressed air defense systems in Western Iran and the Tehran region, giving its air force freedom of action in the skies over the Iranian capital. This was stated at a briefing by the official spokesperson of the Israel Defense Forces, Brigadier General Effie Defrin.

According to him, more than 70 Israeli Air Force aircraft struck targets in Tehran overnight, including suppressing local air defense systems. "The road to Tehran is paved. We attacked more than 40 targets: missiles and advanced air defense systems throughout Tehran, as well as launchers and control centers," he said. "Tehran is no longer protected. The capital is vulnerable to Israeli strikes," the general said.

"Over the past 24 hours, the Israeli Air Force has carried out several waves of strikes and counterstrikes on targets in different parts of Iran. <...> We have attacked more than 150 targets," he said.

"The anti-Iran resolution of the IAEA Board of Governors, pushed by the West, has become another confirmation of support for Israel, as it felt its own impunity when the Western countries surrendered to it."

This was stated by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, commenting on Israel's strikes against Iran.

„The very next day after the adoption of the anti-Iran resolution of the IAEA Board of Governors, where it was pushed by the Western group – "Although a significant part of the member states of the Governing Council either abstained or voted against - the very next day after the adoption of this resolution, a blow was struck. That is, Israel felt impunity. There was another confirmation of unconditional support from a number of Western countries - not only the USA, but also, of course, the leading European participants in the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program," the deputy minister emphasized.

It is with this moment, according to Ryabkov, that it makes sense to connect what happened, and not with the birthday of US President Donald Trump on June 14. For me, another moment is obvious," the deputy head of the Russian Foreign Ministry summed up.
