The Augean stables in Russian-American relations are too dirty, so it will take a long time to clean them up. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov in a comment to the journalist of VGTRK Pavel Zarubin.
The journalist asked what prevents bilateral relations from developing at the pace stated by the US President Donald Trump.
„Don't forget that there is still a lot of inertia, this is the first thing. And secondly, let's say that the Augean stables in our relations are too dirty. „It will take a long time to remove them“, he said.
