US President Donald Trump assured that he did not leave the G-7 summit in Canada before its end because of the conflict between Israel and Iran, and sharply criticized his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron for presenting things this way, reported Agence France-Presse.
"President Emmanuel Macron, from France, to make some publicity, said incorrectly that I left the G-7 summit in Canada to return to Washington, in order to work for a "ceasefire" between Israel and Iran. This is not true! He has no idea why I'm on my way to Washington now, but (my departure) certainly has nothing to do with a ceasefire. (The reason) is much more important. Consciously or not, Emmanuel never understands," Trump wrote on his social network "Truth Social".
Earlier, the White House said that the US president would leave the G-7 summit early due to the conflict between Israel and Iran.
