The Chief of Staff of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak is causing growing discontent among American officials and congressmen, claims Politico, citing 14 of its sources, including current and former congressional officials, Ukrainian and American officials and other well-informed individuals, writes News.bg.

Since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Yermak has regularly visited Washington as the official spokesman for the Ukrainian position. However, according to Politico sources, more and more representatives of the American administration perceive him as rude, overly insistent and poorly acquainted with the mechanisms of American politics. Some even fear that he is misrepresenting Washington's messages to the Ukrainian leadership.

The publication claims that during his last visit to the United States in early June, Yermak barely managed to arrange meetings with high-ranking representatives of the new administration of President Donald Trump.

In a comment provided through his press secretary, Yermak told Politico: "If someone finds me inconvenient - so be it. I am ready to wait for hours at any door if it helps my country and the president's mission. I do not claim to understand in depth how American politics works - I come to talk about the country I know best: Ukraine."

The Politico material emphasizes that although Yermak plays a key role in Kiev's foreign policy contacts, his trust in Washington seems to be weakening - at a critical moment when Ukraine relies on constant American support.
